Harry’s Audi had gone into Limp mode due to an EGR fault and with a new job starting Monday time was if the essence so although short notice and already fully booked we squeezed him in.

The EGR had already been blanked by him but he had a electric motor fault with the EGR valve.

This job should have been a OBD job however after checking the software upgrade and software numbers this actually had anti tuning meaning it cannot be written via the OBD port.

Removing the ECU wasn’t difficult however opening the CP14 can be a timely job , once open we located the boot pad and connected the KTAG bench tuning tool to get a full read and also the eeprom data.

Once recalibrated the software was loaded back on , ECU reselaed and reinstalled.

No more limp mode , just under 50bhp extra and a good way to finish the week.
