We recently performed a stage 1 tune on a 2013 Volkswagen T5, which resulted in significant improvements in power and torque. To protect the vehicle's 5-speed gearbox, we capped the torque to ensure that the transmission wouldn't be overwhelmed by the increased power. The tuning process involved adjusting the engine's ECU to optimise fuel delivery, ignition timing, and boost pressure, while also taking into account the vehicle's specific hardware and components. Overall, the stage 1 tune provided a noticeable boost in performance while maintaining the T5's reliability and drivability.
