This time last year we helped this owner out with a badly mapped Golf TDI, since then he’s upgraded to a 2015 Golf R, a personal favourite of mine and this got a huge power increase.

The Simos 18 ECU in these cars is a long write time so she was hooked up to the stabiliser for around an hour.

The exhausts on these have a nice sound as standard but with a simple resonator delete they really come alive, within the map we put some overun with pops and bangs which there’s a video of in the comments.

With a full turbo back system and a few small.mods these easily break 400bhp however 370bhp and 480nm at stage 2 isn’t to be sniffed at as thing Golf flies.

All figures based on datalogging , we’ve had these on independent dynos at 374/376bhp
