Nathan’s Stunning S3 gave us quite the run around, this car runs a ME7.5 ECU that’s normally mapped via OBD however when we went to read it we had a failure to read message appear, the reason for this was unknown to the owner it was already mapped but was only delivering 14psi which is stock boost for a S3 , we had the car in and pulled the ECU out to bench read it, this allows us to see what’s on the ECU and get to the bottom of why we couldn’t read via the port .

Running a map already there were “no read” tags in lots of the directories effectively locking us out via the OBD port , with all data read including the eeprom we were quickly able to see that many maps had been missed and not done properly.

Using live data on V Scope we were able to look at what the boost levels were doing and although we immediately saw a difference in request against actual readings. The cause of this was a bad N75 valve , Nathan got hold of one and came straight down with it.

With a new N75 fitted boost was up to 21psi and holding delivering a datalogged 250.2 bhp.

We have the software and technical knowledge to get around problems like this and never let a job go out substandard .

This S3 pulls very hard and will be back in for stage 2 within the next few weeks .
